Harvard Business Review: Three Ways Data Dashboards Can Mislead You
I help business leaders use data analytics to make better decisions and achieve better business outcomes. Right now, too many companies focus on the wrong things, handing over analytics to the IT team or the data scientists. Analytics is - first and foremost - about applying good critical thinking skills to well-defined and important business problems. No artificial intelligence tool, dashboard, or regression analysis knows how analytics applies to your particular business context and needs.
I am a Clinical Associate Professor at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where I also serve as Academic Director for data analytics executive education programs. I've been very successful at helping business leaders and companies effectively integrate analytics into their day-to-day operations as well as big-picture strategies. I also teach graduate and executive education courses on how to use data to make better business and policy decisions. I hold a PhD in policy analysis from the Pardee RAND Graduate School, a JD from Northwestern University School of Law, and a BS in physics from the University of Michigan.
